David Effler himself has the personal knowledge of the area’s real estate gathered over more than thirty seven years of serving the area. More importantly, he had the privilege and pleasure of learning his trade from one of the first and best real estate practitioners in northwest Ohio, his father Paul L. Effler, a lifelong Real Estate Broker. That relationship has established a legacy of expert mentoring within Effler / Schmitt, David by Paul and, most recently, Daniel by David.
David Effler, Sr.
David J. Effler Sr. graduated from St. John’s Jesuit High School in 1970 and received his B.S. Degree, with an emphasis in marketing, from the University of Toledo in 1975. A fourth generation real estate broker, Dave entered the real estate in 1974 as a licensed agent and a achieved the status of Real Estate Broker in 1980. A firm believer in higher education (having fully funded seven children through their university educations!), Dave has himself taken numerous advanced courses in Real Estate, Insurance, Marketing, and Appraisal. Also firmly rooted in the local business community, Dave is a past board member of the Better Business Bureau, a member of the Toledo Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Toledo Rotary since 1979 where he is a past Board Member.
What does this all mean? It means that with David Effler, you benefit from the life, education, and business experience of a consummate real estate professional with deep ties to the local community and economy. When he’s not serving his clients real estate and insurance needs, Dave can be found on the golf course or squash courts, rollerblading with his german shorthaired pointer, or celebrating life with his wife, children, grandchildren and friends. Trustworthy, committed, professional-that is the David Effler promise, and the Effler / Schmitt advantage.
Daniel Effler, the newest member of the Effler / Schmitt real estate team, is the proud fifth-generation carrier of the family tradition.
Dan graduated locally from Ottawa Hills High School in 2003 and from Bowling Green State University in 2007, with a combined focus in Business and Finance. After going to work immediately as an agent for ESC, it took him only a few years to achieve the status of Real Estate Broker. He has benefited immensely from a life-long mentor-ship with his father, David, and is now, himself, a Multi-Million Dollar Producer that can provide you with the service and confidence of a seasoned veteran.
As Dan puts it, “Real estate is a passion. In addition to representing my clients as best as I possibly can, I love the art of the business and sorting through the complexities of each unique transaction.” Dan is an avid sports enthusiast, enjoying hiking, cycling, squash, and hunting. He and his wife currently reside in Ottawa Hills, where he can remain active in local events and can keep an eye on the local housing market.

Pamela Hanley has been a part of the Effler team for over ten years.
Pam was raised in the west Toledo area; growing up with eight brothers and two sisters taught her the art of negotiation at a young age!
Pam graduated from St. Ursula Academy and attended the University of Toledo. She pursued a career in the Insurance Industry and became an Area Branch Manager for a large Commercial Insurance Company in Lansing Michigan. Pam retired from the Insurance Industry to enjoy raising her four children. During that time her husband’s career offered the family multiple opportunities to explore a variety of cities in the U.S. As a result, Pam and her family moved 7 times in under 16 years!
This offers Pam unique insight and knowledge into the relocation experience.
Pam and her husband Larry moved back to the Toledo area over 15 yrs ago where Pam re-entered the workforce, over a decade ago, as a residential Real Estate Agent. Having been raised by a Mother who was a Realtor for over 50 years, combined with Pam’s knowledge of the local market, Pam proves to be a wonderful asset for the Effler Team.
Pam’s passion for the greater Toledo area is evidenced by her commitment to her community. She served as a past elected leader for the Sylvania community and she enjoys volunteering through memberships in professional organizations such as: The Sylvania Sunrise Lions Club, Toledo Rotary, and ProMedica Hospice.
Pam and her husband of 35 years enjoy spending time with their 4 children and 7 grandchildren. In their ‘spare’ time they enjoy sailing on the great lakes.
